Impact of COVID-19 on Dental Hygienists: Ongoing Research Updates
The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) and the American Dental Association (ADA) have partnered to conduct a study of US dental hygienists’ infection rates and infection control practices related to COVID-19. In this webinar, the research team will discuss the pandemic’s impact on the profession including employment patterns and vaccinations. The original research was published in the February edition of The Journal of Dental Hygiene. This webinar addresses updates to those findings.

Vaccinations by Dentists: A New Role in Primary Care
This webinar addressed why dentists should be considered primary care providers, and how their background makes them well-trained for providing vaccines. Participants will learn about the collaborative process for developing and passing legislation, the additional training recommended for dentists to include vaccinations as part of their scope of practice, and its implementation in the state of Oregon.

This meeting disseminated lessons learned from a decade of work with virtual dental home systems and dental care coordination activities within the California Dental Transformation Initiative (DTI), Local Dental Pilot Projects (LDPPs), and other programs.
