A Study of the Productivity and Effectiveness of Dental Therapists in a Large Dental Organization

This study built upon previous work by researchers at the OHWRC that describes the dental therapist (DT) workforce at Apple Tree Dental in Minnesota and evaluates the contributions of DTs to expanded access for underserved populations. This mixed methods study used interviews and surveys to describe integration of DTs into oral health care teams and patient experiences and satisfaction with the new model of care delivery.
